Patient Televisions & Entertainment

Healthcare grade equipment that gives patients control and helps them heal.

When someone goes into a healthcare facility, they lose much of their ability to control anything. That loss of control is, at the very least, stressful and uncomfortable. Designing an environment that meets healthcare standards while allowing patients to maintain some semblance of control provides an important sense of relief from that condition.

We apply Roger Ulrich’s theory of Supportive Design to the TV and entertainment options provided in patient rooms. It may seem like a simple thing, but offering a broad selection of content options with simple, intuitive controls not only helps patients pass the time, but helps relieve the loss of control.

Beyond the content, the TV’s and other monitors we provide are manufactured to meet the demanding standards of the healthcare environment. That means surfaces that stand up to bleach-cleaning, components designed to operate longer, and the ports you need for integration with other healthcare systems.

For example, the TV’s we supply for patient areas. The UL listing for “healthcare televisions” conforms to the National Fire Protection Agency’s code section NFPA99. This helps you manage the risk in your facility and assure adherence with local Authorities Having Jurisdictions (AHJs) and the accreditation organizations such as the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) or Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS).
